The World Series of Poker is visiting Africa for a second time for a week of high quality poker and top prizes.
2010 saw great success for the first ever World Series of Poker Africa tournament and this week its successor is taking place. The event is being hosted at the Emerald Resort and Casino and will be run until the 26th February with a Main Event as well as five other events. There is also a separate one-day ladies tournament which has a WSOP Circuit ladies pendant and other prizes up for grab.
Over the course of the week there will be four mega-satellite tournaments taking place to give players a chance to win seats at the main event. With prizes including tournament rings, it is expected that there will be tough competition right from the start.

The CEO of the Emerald Resort and Casino, Martin Rice, said that there will be a total of six WSOP tournament rings up for grabs over the six days which means that this it “the biggest and most prestigious poker tournament ever to be staged in South Africa.”
