Limited but Wide Ranging Boxing Slots

Whilst there are very few boxing slots available, there is a wide range of styles available within the limited choice.

Anyone who enjoys boxing will be disappointed at the lack of boxing themed slots online, however, of the few that exist the variety is amazing. There is a fruit machine slot, a regular video slot, and i-slot and a branded slot all based upon boxing.

Cryptologic produced the fruit machine slot Fruit Fight. The game’s symbols include the boxing bell, stars and boxing gloves. The other symbols are made up of different coloured sevens. Within the cash ladder there are a number of games, some of them with boxing themes, such as Saved by the Bell and Power Punch. In Power Punch the boxer knocks out his opponent and whatever count the referee reaches is the multiplier.
Microgaming has produced Fighting Fish, a comic boxing themed video slots based upon a fight between the red and blue fish. The game includes the crab as a referee, the red and blue fish as fighters, the boxing ring, the championship belt, boxing gloves and a bucket. The red and blue fish act as wild symbols and if spun in the proper combination they expand to cover the reels and a boxing match begins. If the player guesses correctly which fish will win the match then extra free spins are awarded.

Rival Gaming have produced the i-slot. The Heavyweight Gold boxing game begins with the boxer preparing for the match and then winning the championship belt.  The symbols include the boxer, referee, the bell, the belt and the bucket and towel. The gloves act as expanding wild symbols and the girl can trigger the free bonus round. During the bonus the player can control the boxer’s actions and then bonus credits are awarded depending on how the boxer performs.

Finally the Rocky branded slots was developed by Playtech, based upon the film starring Sylvester Stallone. Rocky acts as the wild symbol in this game and other symbols include his opponents from the various Rocky films. If the letters R, O, C, K and Y appear on the reels in the correct order then the player wins five times the bet. The game also features a Knockout Bonus game where Rocky fights an opponent and for each round won the player receives a cash award.

The Rocky slot is the best of the boxing slots. If you enjoyed the movie series, you’ll absolutely love the Rocky slot game. It’s definitely one of the best games ever made by Playtech. The bonus game is as good as any bonus game you’ve ever seen. Give Rocky a spin! For more updates in online sports betting  visit us at www.onlinecasinoarchive.com

Punters keep betting as World Gambling revenue continues to rise

New gambling markets of China and Singapore pushes the World Gambling

revenue past $400 billion in 2011

Findings from the Global Betting and Gaming Consultants latest research show what industry experts have been hoping for – that gambling revenue across the world continued to rise in 2011, with a growth rate of 5.6%.

The industry as a whole raked in a staggering $419 billion last year, thanks in part to the surge in popularity of gambling in the mega resorts of Singapore and Macau, China. Despite the resorts only being in their second full year of operation, they helped to push casinos to the second highest revenue group in the GBGC poll, with a 27.7% share. This is expected in increase significantly in 2012, with casinos likely to take the top revenue spot as new developments continue to open in Asia.
Online gaming has also grown in 2011, up to 8.4% of the total. This is good news for a market that is still battling for legislation in the biggest gambling market in the world – the United States. Here online gaming is still illegal, with various big name online casino operators being indicted by the US Government in 2011 under the Unlawful Gaming Act. It is assumed that should the situation change, the revenue share for online gaming will increase exponentially.

It should be noted that Calvin Ayre was indicted in US Federal Court in Baltimore, Maryland earlier this year. Ayre and 3 other Canadian men are charged with operating an illegal gambling business involving sports betting and conspiring to commit money laundering. Ayre was the subject of a 2006 Forbes cover story titled, “Catch Me If You Can”. This well publicized indictment was intended to serve as a warning to other online casino operators not to operate in the US until the laws there change.

Whilst the GBGC is predicting that global revenue will hit $500 billion by 2014, industry experts are advising caution in light of the recession has hit global economies in recent months.
Commenting on the global growth prospects, Lorien Pilling said:
“A strong economic recovery in the U.S. would help gaming revenues that have been hit hard in recent years. In Europe, the gambling industry needs the euro zone crisis to be resolved because the uncertainty is really hurting the gambling sector in the likes of Greece and Spain.”

One day of slots nets player over $400,000

Golden Palace slots player records a win of over $400k after trying her hand on $5 Million Winning Streak.

December is known to be the month for giving and Golden Palace Casino have certainly lived up to this expectation by announcing that this December, one of its players registered a winning streak which saw her netting a prize fund of over $400,000.

Identified only as Ann S. from Bermuda, The Golden Palace winner recorded her win on 13th December, just in time to celebrate the holidays with her family. The Administrative Assistant has been a keen online slots player for almost two years but has never before managed to secure any noteworthy win. However, after watching how much fun her niece was having at Golden Palace Casino, she quickly decided to open her own account and start enjoying the huge range of games for herself.

Admitting herself that she had no specific strategy to win, Ann advised in an interview with Golden Palace that she initially scored $100k playing $5 Million Winning Streak, before a sandstorm revealed chests of gold worth $302,700 on Desert Treasure. When asked what she planned to do with her winnings, Ann had no hesitation in advising that she plans to share her good fortune with her family, as well as taking a holiday to Panama, where she can try out her new custom made golf clubs.

The $5 Million Winning Streak slot that started Ann’s run of fortune is a sports themed video slot that features Skating Streak, Boxing, Olympic streak, Beckham Ball, Rodman Streak, Super Bowl Streak and US Open Streak. The bonus round is triggered when three bags of cash appear, and the top jackpot on this game is staggering 1,000,000 coins.

Desert Treasure is a 5 reel, 20 payline slot game by Playtech that is so good, they made a sequel! Matching 5 wilds is worth 10,000 coins – and that’s a rare event. Matching 3 to 5 scatter symbols is Desert Treasure brings a player to the bonus game, which is a map. The player’s job is to choose the most likely locations on the map that the treasure can be hidden. Pick the right locations and you too can win a huge jackpot.

Even if you don’t become a millionaire like Ann, there are many wonderful jackpots that don’t go as high as hundreds of thousands of dollars!

Social Gaming the Next Trend in Gaming Industry

MGM international is taking aim at social gaming, what the company’s CEO sees as the next big thing in the casino world, for June with its myVegas platform.

The brand will offer free-to-play gaming options through social media outlets, like Facebook, in an attempt to utilize the virtually untapped resource of social media users online. Many such free-play casinos are available through Facebook, appealing to the company’s estimated 800 million users, roughly 20 times that of Las Vegas’ annual visiting population.
Use Virtual money to win virtual prizes if the mantra for social gaming brands Zynga Poker, Playtika, Double Down, myVegas, and RocketFrog.
Caesar’s purchased a majority share of Playtika in 2011 and purchased the remaining shares earlier this year for an undisclosed price. Seeing the potential within the social media industry, gambling and resort companies are looking to the internet for fresh, new users.
The largest difference to speak of with these types of games is the fact that actual money is never changing hands, what would be an otherwise illegal practice in much of the world, online or otherwise. There are however options for players to purchase extra gaming tokens and/or coins for real-money, but this real money is never paid out or able to be withdrawn, meaning players can buy in for more rewards, but never cash out winnings.

More than anything else, casino and gaming companies see social gaming as a huge player acquisition tool into the real-money gambling industry.
Because of the US ban on online gambling, these companies are very careful and cautious as to how they award prizes. While it may be legal to give away prizes for winning on a Facebook slot game, it is definitely illegal offer cash prizes to gaming winners.

But that’s not the point! MGM and Caesar’s see the rest of the world entering the social gaming market and realize that they have no choice but to join in on the fun. So they join in with huge investments and no return on investment on the horizon. The point is, “to be there” and await changes in US online gambling laws – hopefully after the November presidential and congressional elections.
As the Facebook IPO has shown, not everything that is social glitters with gold. It will be at least until 2013 until companies – including Facebook – learn how to make money from social gaming. Until then, they’ll keep on spending!

New gaming platform for Zynga Poker

After months of speculation within the online gaming industry, Zynga Inc has confirmed what everyone
has long suspected: they are interested in real money gaming after all.

In a statement released to the industry press, the social gaming giant announced that it is building a new
gaming platform which will allow users to play its games for real money. This new, separate platform
will signify a move away from the social networking site Facebook, changing a relationship that has
been in place since 2007. And what a successful relationship it has been, with Zynga utilising Facebook’s
extensive user base to deliver games such as CastleVille, Words with Friends and of course, Zynga Poker,
to millions of players across the world.

Mark Pincus, the co-founder of Zynga, said “In 2007 Facebook changed the game with their courageous
move to open their platform to us all. We’re proud to be a part of Facebook’s ecosystem and we built
Zynga.com to complement their pervasive social graph.”

Pincus went onto advise that both companies will continue to work closely together, adding that
Zynga.com will be one of the first sites to be completely integrated into Facebook.

It has been reported that Zynga Poker is exploring partnership opportunities that will allow it to enter
the online market in the United States. As online gaming is currently illegal, the only entry into this
potentially lucrative market is via a partnership with a land-based casino in states such as Nevada or
California. Both states are currently drawing up a regulatory framework for the online poker industry
and are currently processing applications from local operators.

While Zynga has benefited greatly from its symbiotic relationship with Facebook, events of the past
month have exposed the limitations of such a close relationship. Zynga’s fortunes are closely tied –
perhaps too much – with the fate of Facebook.

When Facebook went public in May, the social giant didn’t provide investors the “IPO pop” that many
expected. As of May 30, 2012, Facebook’s shares are down 24%. Zynga is down 15% for the same
period.

Expect Zynga to quickly build a situation whereby they rely less on Facebook. How will Zynga’s new
gaming platform perform without Facebook? Stay tuned – we’ll know by summer’s end where this story
goes!
