Microgaming to Launch New Batman Slots

Later this month Microgaming will be releasing the first slot game based upon the Batman Dark Knight film.

Microgaming, the leading online casino software developer, have beaten their rivals and acquired the rights to Warner Brother’s Batman Dark Knight films. A deal has been signed between Microgaming and DC comics which will result in a number of new slot games built upon the famous Batman films.

It is expected that all the popular characters from the films will be brought to life in the games with all the latest features such as cinematic spins. The 28th June will see the Dark Knight 25 line slot game released followed next year by a slot game based upon the new Batman The Dark Knight Rises film which will be released this summer.

The new Batman slot games will be following on from the hugely popular Microgaming slot game based upon the film trilogy The Lord of the Rings. The slot has seen great success at all Microgaming casinos but unfortunately it will soon no longer be available. As of yet there has been no official comment why, but it is thought to be because of royalties.

The new game is packed full of exciting features such as a random progressive which is connected to four massive jackpot possibilities. Of course there are also loads of bonuses and random prizes which will be awarded during game play. Everyone expects this game to be a huge success for Microgaming and it should be available at all major Microgaming casinos by the end of this month.

For those who enjoy comics and slots, then is likely to be the start of a very exciting time as Microgaming are sure to produce a string of Batman themed games. Don’t miss out on this exciting launch, make sure to log in to your favourite Microgaming casino on June 28th and start enjoying this fantastic new game.

Microgaming is in the unique position of having special deals with DC Comics (which owns Batman) and Marvel Comics (which owns The Avengers, Spiderman and many others). This means that Microgaming can create games featuring all of the superheroes and puts Microgaming in a unique position. They’re way ahead of the pack, to say the least.

One can only dream of a joint Marvel – DC Comics slot game. Why not Batman vs Spiderman slots?

Realtime Gaming Gains another Online Casino

Realtime Gaming will have another online casino running on its platform when Desert Nights casino launches later this month.

Since the passing of the UIGEA in 2006 Realtime Gaming (RTG) has been busy expanding its share of the American online casino market. Because RTG has continued to serve the American market operators who have always used the RTG platform have expanded the number of online casinos they offer whilst operators who were using other platforms have switched to RTG.

Most recently, RTG gained more customers when Rival Gaming online casinos began to suffer due to the Department of Justice’s closure of online poker sites on Black Friday. As a result Deckmedia switched its online casino, Sloto’Cash, to the RTG platform and later this month another of its popular brands, Desert Nights, is due to make the change.
The Desert Nights online casino will remain largely unchanged in terms of styling; however, it will offer a completely different set of games. RTG will be offering more than 170 different online casino games at Desert Nights which is roughly three times that of Rival Gaming.

The welcome bonus offer is also changing; players will now be given an $8 bonus in order to try out games instead of the $500 worth of free spins that was available. However, the main deposit bonus is largely unchanged. New customers at Desert Nights can collect up to $8,888 in bonuses over their first eight deposits. The bonus percentages vary between 121% and 300% which translates in maximum bonuses ranging from $600 up to $1,500. Whilst the bonuses cannot be turned into cash there is no limit on the amount of winnings which can be withdrawn.

Finally, whilst the VIP Lounge will still contain three tiers, Bronze, Silver and Gold the rewards will be different. For example, Bronze level members will be rewarded with a free chip of $25 when the join the VIP club, they will then receive a 150% monthly reload bonus up to $1,5000, extra comp points and a 5% weekly cash back as well as a special birthday bonus.

Look out for Realtime Gaming’s deposit bonuses. Experienced gamblers know that the deposit bonuses are the best way to milk the bonus cow. Many popular payment providers offer 10-15% deposit bonuses – per deposit and unlimited. Why not stretch your playing money – and time – by 10-15% by taking advantage of everything the online casinos will offer you!?

Cryptologic Announces Deal with Canadian State Lottery

Amongst rumours of a takeover, Cryptologic have reached a deal to power the Espacejeux website and provide a number of new games.

The Canadian state lottery corporation, Loto-Quebec, has announced a new deal which will result in their Espacejeux casino being powered by software from Cryptologic. It has been reported that the new deal will lead to fourteen new games being released over the next year, the first of which, Bejeweled, is already available on the site.

Cryptologic is extremely pleased by the deal and Ian Price, their Group Head of Business Development, said that, “Working with governmental organizations such as Loto-Quebec underpins Cryptologic’s reputation for delivering innovative but also responsible gaming solutions.”

Francois Poulin, the General Manager at Espacejeux, was also very happy about the deal. He said that Espacejeux has already build a reputation for innovation and integrity and that Espacejeux is looking forward to integrating the new games as they will offer a more diverse experience for gamers.

However, not all is well at Cryptologic. It is reported that Amaya Gaming, which currently own 7% of Cryptologic is preparing to buy the remaining shares and buy out the company. They have offered to buy the shares at $2.54 per share. This would place Cryptologic’s worth at $35.8 million dollars although the deal with Loto-Quebec is expected to change the share value. It has been reported by Canadian Casino News that Cryptologic’s share are already up 7%.

The CEO of Amaya Gaming, David Baazov, is expected to be undeterred by the rise in share price. He has said that both companies share values and philosophies and as such the acquisition of Cryptologic is a logical and necessary expansion for Amaya Gaming.

Regardless of whether Amaya Gaming is successful, Canadian gamers can now benefit from Cryptologic’s software and enjoy all the latest in slots, blackjack and other casino games at the Espacejeux website.
This is a perfect match for Cryptologic. Cryptologic is a pioneer in the field of online gaming. They started off with online backgammon, of all things. Their online backgammon was so good that they went on to create online gambling versions of backgammon. They then created their first slot games.

They have versions of Spiderman and many super hero games that users love to play. Thanks to their “regular gaming” experience, Cryptologic will know exactly what to do to make the Canadian lottery more exciting than ever.

Exciting New Slot Games from 888.com

888 has announced that they will soon be releasing three exciting new slot games for their online casino.

Three new slot games have been announced by 888 which are due to be released on the online casino 888.com. They are all video slots, two of which have come about as the result of a licensing agreement that was signed between 888 Holdings PLC and Warner Bros Digital Distribution last year.

The deal gave 888 Holdings the rights to produce online slot games built upon Warner Bros films. In particular they were given the rights to develop games based upon the film Nightmare on Elm Street as well as the film Clash of the Titans.

The Business Development and Sales VP for 888, Yaniv Sherman, said that the deal is another “milestone for 888 in our pursuit of gaming excellence.” Sherman went on to say that they are “thrilled” to be working with one of the most renowned entertainment companies in the world and that they shall be developing new games over the next couple of years.

The two games based upon Warner Bros films are Clash of the Titans and Nightmare on Elm Street. Clash of the Titans is a 5 reel, 20 payline game which features loads of quotes, clips and images from the film. There is a free spins bonus in the game as well as a “pick and win” feature which gives players many more chances to win extra payouts.
The third game to be released is called “Dawn of the Dinosaurs”.

It has 5 reels and 25 paylines and is built upon a dinosaur theme. The game is packed with features such as free spins and bonus games, there are also opportunities to collect symbols that give the players more ways to win, players can win up to 100 times their original bet thanks to this exciting feature.

Nightmare on Elm Street is a cult classic among Gen X’ers. No one will ever forget the stunning performance Robert Englund pulled off in the movie. Even movie fans who aren’t horror film followers saw Nightmare on Elm Street.

Clash of the Titans is no less of a classic than Nightmare on Elm Street. The 80’s movie taught more teens about Greek and Roman mythology than most schools ever did. Clash of the Titans set a standard for storytelling that is hard to beat.

Remember the Old Playtech Slots

As Playtech release more and more fantastic slot games, a number of older classics are undeservedly being forgotten.

Unfortunately, one of the side effects of the constant stream of exciting new online slot games from Playtech is that some of the older games are forgotten. In many ways this is no great shame as the new games are generally better thanks to developing technology, however, there are a few games which should be remembered as they truly offer something special

8 payline slot games are unique to Playtech casinos and since there are no more being developed it is important that some of them are kept alive. For instance, Chinese Kitchen is a great 8 payline slot game; the atmosphere created is so authentic that one feels as if they can actually smell the kitchen.

The symbols are pictures of different food items and are displayed in a 3 by 3 matrix. The paylines go horizontally, vertically and diagonally across the matrix and even though there are no jackpots or bonus games, Chinese Kitchen is a true classic that deserves to be remembered and enjoyed.

Another game facing extinction is Fair Magic, whilst this game is not very old; it has been severely neglected by players. The game features scatter, wild and bonus symbols (a tree house, unicorn and fairy respectively) as well as gnomes, squirrels, daffodils and mushrooms.

The bonus game is great fun, when the fairy appears on a reel she drops a star behind it, if four stars are collected under a reel then the player receives a bonus of four times the total bet as well as five free spins with doubled payouts.

These are just two of many slot games that should be remembered and played regularly. They are still widely available at Playtech casinos so next time you feel like spinning the reels see if you can find an old favourite and bring new life to these classics.

When is the last time you played a 3 reel slot game? Do you even remember them? The winners of the Hot Gems progressive jackpot aren’t laughing. The 3 reel game features a progressive jackpot that is often among the top in the business. The same goes with Megaball and Winners Club.

Winners Club is a scratch card with a progressive jackpot. The game appears like a typical paper based lottery scratch card. The jackpot often hits $1,000,000. Don’t forget the classic games with high payouts!

Former Head of FBI – Regulate Online Gambling Now!

Former FBI Director Louis Freeh and Former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge penned an op-ed piece in last Friday’s Washington Examiner calling for a new federal internet gambling law. It’s not every day that one reads a Washington daily and finds the former head of the FBI supporting online gambling legislation.

Are Freeh and Ridge closet fans of William Hill? Are they betting on the next election?“We all know that Internet gambling takes place in a borderless enterprise outside an already ambiguous policy arena that affects millions of Americans. Americans across the country can gamble on various games on the Internet such as cards, sports and games of chance.”

That’s the “it happens anyways, so let’s regulate, cough cough, tax it” argument.

“Individual states simply do not possess the necessary law enforcement tools to effectively police gambling in a borderless Internet.” This is the stronger argument. As it appears now, US online gambling will be re-instituted on a state by state basis - 50 states (plus a few territories) with 50 different sets of online gambling laws. At that rate, the lawyers will make more money than the casinos and jackpot winners!

Imagine Florida legalizing online gambling, but requiring that all gamblers must be from Florida. If each state does this, online casinos will be a crazy web of over-regulation. Freeh and Ridge are right to call for federal online gambling legislation.

Let’s hope that other wise men and women in Washington are listening to former FBI director Freeh and former Homeland Security secretary Ridge!

With a Congress that can barely agree that the sky is blue, it is hard to believe that Congress can come together on such a big issue. Beyond the online gambling aspect, there is a bigger debate that has been playing out for hundreds of years in the United States, and that is states’ rights.

If the federal government handles online gambling, does a state like Kentucky have a right to opt out? Even if one supports online gambling, shouldn't a community (state) have the right to decide its own values and laws?

Perhaps the best way to do it is a compromise of federal and state legislation. As Freeh and Ridge suggest, the federal government can provide the legislative package and enforcement. But individual states should also be able to decide to opt out if they so choose. Online gambling should be legal, but should not be imposed either.

Online Gambling Regulation Spreads Throughout Europe

Belgium has become the latest country to begin regulating online gambling and Spain is set to follow in the coming year.

Belgium has joined the world of regulated internet gambling and the Belgium Gaming Commission has just announced which websites they have approved. The list consists of three online poker rooms, four online casinos and two sports books.

Belgian poker players can now enjoy PokerStars.be, Partouche.be and GPWin.be, however, despite the .be domain names, Belgians will still be playing at tables with competitors from across the world.

The gambling regulations which passed last year in Belgium are somewhat controversial due to the large number of restrictions they contain. Players in Belgium can only play on approved sites otherwise they face criminal penalties. The largest ISPs in Belgium are going to be blocking websites on the Belgium Gaming Commissions’ black list.

Furthermore all online operators must be associated with a land based casino. It is also unclear whether players’ winnings will be regarded as taxable income; however there will be an update to gambling laws soon which is expected to resolve this.

Spain was also due to begin regulating online gambling in the New Year, however, they have now announced that there will be a six month delay in the implementation of the gambling laws.  The delay is so that the regulators will have more time to review licence applications. It is now expected that the new regulation will come into effect on June 30th.

Spain’s new gambling regulations were passed in February of last year and since then 61 operators, including major names such as PokerStars, 888, bwin.party, Ladbrokes and GBT have submitted applications for licenses.

It is expected that the Spanish online gambling market will be hugely successful and be worth around 680 million euros by the year 2015. The Spanish government have set gambling taxes at just 25% of gross revenue which will make it very appealing to online gambling operators. It is because of this that so many operators are competing to join the market next June.

The Italian online gambling market is considered to be heavily regulated. Not every online casino brand is available in Italy due to regulation. In fact, many of the large brands have had to forgo an Italian presence because of the many rules and regulations.

What is the perfect formula for online gaming regulation? No one knows, but we will continue to see more changes in Europe.
